Currently in negotiations with a fellow member over buying a FW09 Crust Samurai coat off him, and upon closer inspection, both me and him agreed that the tag seems a bit weird. The coat seems very legit other than the tag. Anybody wanna chime in on this?

Here's what the tags should look like:
From Crust, super sought after hooded version. Heavy oiled calf leather sleeves, rigid flannel body, and soft jersey cotton hood and neckline. Retailed around $2700, Worn only times 3 times, decided to sell as I have something I want. You can wear this as many ways as you want you. Perfect condit...

Yeah, those look normal, with the pixelation and everything. But what is up with the tags on the model I posted? Could it be a production sample or something? I highly doubt it being a fake model, at least it doesn't look that way to me.

When the model numbers don't even remotely match and there is no pixelation I immediately steer clear. Rick is so often faked and especially with a highly desirable piece....well you get the drift. I am not an expert, but I have spent some time reading what others on this board have posted so that I can make an informed decision when buying used Rick. Usually if it's too good to be true...

Of course it's a fake. Why would someone stitch fake labels into a real jacket?

You make a pretty good point.

Well, logotype font looks a bit wonky on the tag but would need to see a larger image. He has made lots of half sleeve tees though.

And the product + fabric code only brings up this particular auction, no retailer sites so would be cautious. Don't have the AW13 salesbook on me to confirm was that tee made in that fabric that season.

Gone now anyway, so it's a bit academic, but Googling also gives a different auction with a different piece (long sleeved instead of short) under the same prod + fabric code. It was from AW14 though and product codes do sometimes overlap between seasons. Both auctions also mention "11 by BBS" for no obvious reason.

For me it was the awkward stitching at the underarm, looked either repaired or fake.

                        Anyway, I wouldn't buy it.

                          I bought it ><

I'll cross check with my other BBS tees, and if it's turn out to be fake i guess i'll notify Ebay and/or open disputes on Paypal.

Ha. Well, fortune favors the brave. I've picked up things I was worried about before and so far they've turned out fine. If it's a piece you really like it's worth the risk - as you say, as the buyer PayPal's got your back.

I don't know, think you have to be Sherlock to get anything out of the ordinary from those tags. There is some variation after all and they look pretty identical with previous tags. Unless of course you have the 'real' model number but even then mixing tags is not unheard of. If anything it would be the under arm stitching that is suspect, or construction in general.
