They had very few pieces in 44, but the Souvenir jacket was one of them. The 44 was just slightly too tight on me--it looked great, and felt perfect when I stood with my arms at my side, but it was restricting when I attempted to move my arms, and with the super-lightweight fabric I didn't want to risk it. 46 looked nearly identical but was much more comfortable.

Other pieces in 44 were some jeans, and a couple button-up short sleeve and long sleeve shirts. Not much else, I don't think.

It runs true to size but on the extremely fitted end of the spectrum. The price is around $400. It's a fun piece.

i finally made it over to den today. honestly, i found the collection generally disappointing. the collection's influences are obvious but not cohesive. for example, there's one tee with asian-inspired trumpet sleeves and then there are thom-browne knockoff ties. it was hard for me to create a unified look, everything felt muddy. and the shoulder details don't work for me, they're sharp and exaggerated in ways that don't make sense.

there are some cool pieces. as mentioned, the fencing jacket is rad (although i'm not sure if i like because i like it or because it makes me wistful for cloak), the belted jacket is sleek, and the stand-collar blazer is definitely unique.

prices are pretty easy to stomach relative to other stuffs.

I think this Spring collection is better for the basics. The jeans, tees, and those tanks ala RO are all quite nice and perfect for Summer time.

my issue with this collection is that he's not positioning himself as a purveyor of basics. he seems to see it as high concept.

and i'm questioning the quality. i bought the belted jacket and wore it home, and the painted zippers had chipped after the 10 minute train ride.

No, I agree with you. I also still think he's working out the kinks in the collection/s, so we'll see what the FW line is like.

I think what I meant to say with my last post, was that the majority of what I like (and think is worth it), are the basics. Now, for his next collection, I like a whole lot more...

den sales chick said that rg had been checking out retail spaces for the fall collection, which i agree has massive potential.

too bad he couldn't claim the cloak space before acne moved in. speaking of which, we never had a moment of silence for that tragedy...
