    Junya Watanabe Mens S/S 08 - Paris

Suits! I like that he uses older models in his shows - I must say it's refreshing after all the rent boys that Hedi has made fashionable (and after all the Dolce beefcakes, too).

some of those blazers seem to be of the same cut as this season's tracksuit blazers, which i like. do you know what material is he using this time around?

Hmm, I like the first few jackets, and while I'm sure it'll grow on me I have to say I expected more.

Looks like polyester, or linen cotton mixes with all that crumpling and shrinkage.

I like some of the jackets, that's about it - and I didn't post the most colorful (if that was Prada I'd say clownish) outfits. I understand Junya's motto of making classics and basics, but this Biker > Alpine dweller > Military is getting waaay to circular. Surely there are more things in the world to reference.

This collection looks refreshing. Would like to see the rest (hope it's not that bad as you described :)

Some blazers from last collection but with different materials and prints. Nice touch.

I really like the rumpled blazers. I'm getting a weird sort of preppy vibe from those sweaters and the colors which seems new for Junya. Overall not bad, I would wear a lot of it, but not super inspiring either. Those jeans are nasty though.

Is it just me or is fall pretty lame so far. Hopefully Ann will save the day tomorrow.

Fall is great, I meant spring.

yeah this is basically how i see it. like it better than s/s 07 though, his take on prep school tailoring is quite fresh and modern. It's more approachable than TB, who I feel tends to get straight out wacky with some of his experiments.

I think this is pretty fantastic, a huge improvement over the last few spring seasons. The colors and materials look great and I'm very curious to know about the fabric treatments. I'm not getting prep school so much--more of a plantation, going down river on a raft vibe.

                            I also like these.

yeah the fabric treatments are quite innovative and clever. hmm...you're right, perhaps not so much prep, def. getting some 'old school dandy' vibes though.
