Yeah black hoof and grand electric showed up in my searches but I'm not sure I'll have time to do a reasonable sit down restaurant unfortunately :/

The country general though intrigues me greatly as I love burgers as well. Thanks for the tip on Burger Priest and Libretto being hyped... I was considering those as I'd heard about Burger Priest my last trip 2 years ago and had a bit of a hankering for it.

I don't really get Grand Electric. It's not bad, but holy shit who are these people lining up like idiots for middle of the road mexican food? I've been there twice but only waaay late past midnight when drunk and there was fortunately no line-up, which is the only way I can see myself going there.

The food is wholly unspectacular and undeserving of any hype. After working as a butcher in my youth and the food industry here I've realised how shallow and trend-focused (more than other cities by far) the food scene is here. I'm tired of bearded hipsters who have no previous cooking experience selling me "artisan" charcuterie. Continue your art career and leave the terrine de lapin to those capable.

If I overhear any more blogsters circle-jerking and touting "authentic" chicken & waffles or the latest izakaya I'm gonna have to slap a hipster.

Damn it Toronto, be more good.

I can however attest to the tastiness of bahn-mi boys as I work near there and usually grab something from there to eat. A solid offering for a solid price.

Resisted a second trip to Banh Mi Boys and did Khao San Road instead.. that place is amazing. Best Thai food I've ever had. Liked it so much that ended up taking two bands there for lunch/dinner and takeout for the rest of the tour laf. Tried a bunch of stuff but the Chef Style Pad Thai is ridiculous as was the squash fritters and tamarind curry. Everything was pretty amazing.. only the pad khee mao was a bit disappointing.

We are headed to Montreal tomorrow and subsequently Vancouver if anyone has further Canadian recommendations.

Definitely going to check out Schwartz.... earlier posts mention Au Pied de Cochon and Kazu and apparently some amazing sausage place ;p

ssense.com, Syndey's and Serpentine are the only ones decent shops I've come across that carry "sz brands". Maybe TNT in Toronto if you're looking for a poor selection of CDG or YY. Also reborn.ws I believe has BBS and Devoa, not sure if they have a storefront. I can't think of anywhere else on the east coast.

Reborn does have a storefront in Old Montreal, really beautiful if you go during winter with the snow covering the streets

Michel Brisson on Laurier street in Montreal holds Lost & Found, Rick Owens and probably some other *********** brands that I'm forgetting at the moment.
