all the recent posts on eyewear inspired me to purchase new specs.
I opted for the these Lafont's:



I also already have them in green:


The material is layered raw plastic (the dark textured portion) and colored transparent plastic. Best of all the frames are made in France.

Spectacles for humans (spectaclesforhumans.blogspot.com) is pretty much what I rely on for all my glasses.

I'd say my favorite of their lines are Orgreen, Mykita, Derome Brenner, Meier, and maybe a few others here and there. Spivvy, SpecEspace (spelling?), and Derapage are all pretty badass too.

You have an oval face so most sunglasses should fit you well. Still, I would go try a ton of them first, even at Sunglass hut. Buying sunglasses without trying on is a tricky business, just like buying cologne.

But yeah, I am in the same boat - need shades for the beach (T minus 3 weeks) and don't think I will take my Incognitos... far from practical and a bit OTT. Just a bit.

ive never tried on incog's. are they very impractical, minus all the attention? they seem like they would hurt your nose.

I went boring but classic and bought a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Have never used shades on a regular basis before, but every summer is the same, headaches and tense eyes from squinting my eyes.

I'm not really a big fan of sunglasses, but I do have a pair of old Dior Homme ones that I use on the beach or whenever it's practical. I do like a lot of Cutler & Gross frames, but I think that with sunglasses or glasses the main concern should be how they look on your face and not necessarily who makes them. I often find that looking at glasses online is pointless, often frames I like the look of don't look good on my face in person anyway.
