Curious and Unusual Gift Ideas

With the holidays coming, I thought this would be a good thread to throw in random fun objects that could be used as gifts, or just for fun. I know bakla should have a ton, judging by his blog. I also have a whole bookmark folder with interesting little things.

I'll start with the one I found today, which is really hillarious.

Double-edge safety razor - this particular model is from Merkur.

        Badger hair shaving brush:

And classic shaving soap/cream. (no need for picture)

Not only those razors look pretty good, crafted of massive stainless steel, but used correctly in conjunction with a good shaving brush and cream (for creating the best lather), you'll get the closest and at the same time most comfortable and gentle shave of your life. Not only the shave is way better than the usual multiple-blade stuff, it's also way cheaper. You can buy a decent razor and brush for at total of $100. While it might sound expensive, it's cheap in the long run, as good double-edges blades can be used several times, and cost about 5-10 cent each, contratry to the ridiculoously expensive Gilette catridges. And did I mention that shaving can actually be quite fun? :)

          SENZ Umbrella

Cuts through and deflects the wind, and apparently never flips. A longer tail to protect those heels as well.

You can take it skydiving for fun as well.

The worlds of haute couture and religion have a long history that too often gets ignored. The papal rings, sacramental wine chalices, torah yads, and a whole assortment of robes, sashes and head dressings have littered the landscape of western religion for as long as it has existed. This Louis Vuitton menorah brings that intersection to the forefront. Let's not give a wink and a nod anymore, let's put it all out in the open. We already have torah yads (the pointers used to touch the torah so as not to damage it) made of silver, why can't they be Tiffany's?

No, no, no to the LV candle stick. The umbrellas are certainly cool.
