    Re: Small questins thread

I agree about the quality from what I've handled. Be weary of the sizing though, from what I've found, it fits on the big side.

        Re: Rick Owens Sizing

RO tops sizing is pretty flexible and yet inconsistant. i would say it depends on the fit you are looking for and more important, which kind of top you are refering to.

M will give a well fitted look on a size 48 person. L is slightly loose.

              small question thread

calling all SZ guru's.. I have a libertine wool military jacket that I am very fond of.. It is hand painted on front.. as in pic below.. and unfortunately, it has giant painted letters on the back.. I am not such a fan on the giant letters across the back.. does anyone know how I can remove those letters without harming the fabric? If not, Where can I get a large military looking dark patch that could cover these letters.. the patch would need to be about 8" x 4".. .

              front painting that i like

back that i do not like

              thanks SZ community, -JAK

                Re: small question thread

theres no way you can remove the paint while keeping the fabric intact. as far as a patch i would just have one custom made somewhere. or make your own. or eBay.

but then again. the prints not that bad. it's not my jacket. but i remember trying to render a comme des garcons jacket i didnt like and ended up ruining it and wishing i never did anything.

is there any difference in the leather used in Rick Owens jackets for the SS and FW seasons?

                        Depends on the jacket....

He does use similar leathers for some and different for others. Take the blistered leather jackets for SS08, he didn't do those at all for FW or last SS.

                          Re: small question thread

ah okay. is the same smooth, thin lamb leather used for the FW collection or is a thicker leather used?

                            Re: small question thread

Typically, a thicker leather is used. He also usually has a few different textures, stiffnesses, and weights depending on the season. I remember for SS07, he did a really soft leather, a medium, and a stiff.

they're fairly narrow... sizing down may be difficult if you've got wild feet
