                this is driving me crazy....i'm trying to find this guy's blog. he's an artist from san francisco who now lives in new york. he has a blogspot blog with more pics....i bookmarked but my bookmarks got deleted.
                anyone know this guy's name? i think it's walter something maybe?

                  These are from an early series of paintings by Vija Celmins in a series called "television and disaster" done in the 60's . I really enjoy this work for its solemnity it ranges from images of floor heaters to violent scenes but all are crafted in the same sort of detached way, very much how her later work would appear but the imagery of this work is much more charged than the scenes of water and stars she is known for.

                                Interest1, your request was poetic and reasonable. But I also see the virtue of posting it much bigger to intensify the experience (look at the textures!) and hopefully the appreciation for the art work.

                                These two opposite extremes brings about a tension that leads to inaction.
