I like this too, although I don't think i'd wear much of it. It's too gothy, punky for my own taste. It does however have a kind of understated integrity which is not something she's been majoring on recently. It is actually quite a safe collection apart fom the skirts, which, no matter what anyone says, are just plain silly! There is, as Buckwheat says, a lot of plundering from previous collections, with the white overstitch, the outside in jackets, the boiled polyester and the circle patterns.
Now you sound like Faust. [86]
I guess you could call it safe. I was thinking many people would find it "wearable," which is often not the case with these collections....

Or like 99.9 % of the male population!
I meant safe in the sense of not going very far in terms of newness or with new ideas. I agree it seems wearable. Apart form the skirts.......
/\ True. Actually, I think what Junya's been doing for a while has been great - he would take one them and do two seasons with it - fall and spring, which I thought was great. Three times though seems a bit much.

One of the best of the season for me--a perfectly balanced collection from Rei. i love that she rounded out all the elegant black with the patterned pieces. Judging from the detail shots, this is going to be even better in person...the details look amazing.
***the hakamas are lovely...but I've always liked men in skirts...[79]
poor marc...his clean-cut, toned and tan appearance really doesn't work with the designer stuff he has been trying to wear. way too pretty boy is the problem, imo.
i liked it better when he wore glasses.
...I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.
Think that's from last winter rather than current collection. I was in the Paris store on Monday and the manager was wearing a short skirt like that with trousers/leggings. I liked it, but it's not for everyone (or indeed many).
Marc's been on a big skirt kick lately. (I've seen other pictures of him wearing a skirt with the Sprouse X LV leggings)
I checked out some of the CDG stuff 2 weeks ago and was loving the price points but not really liking some of the pieces in person. Although, there wasn't much in stock. Some normal looking suit jackets, a weird shiny pebble/animal print hoodie (horrible), and some of the slim jeans and leggings. Will check this weekend if Barneys got their stuff yet.

Yeah it's not that great in my view. Fabrics disappointing. I think the second round of deliveries is still to come, so maybe it will improve. Evergreen is good as usual.
Yea I wasn't impressed with the fabrics at all. They all felt really dull. But like you said, I think a lot of the more interesting items are still to come.
But I was happy with the pricing. The jeans were around $225, the leggings at $150, and suit jackets around $800.
