I've seen most of the stuff people recommend above, but thank you.
Downtown Abbey is this good?
Started watching Breaking Bad yesterday. So far Ok. I suppose it gets better?
Any of the below a must-see?
Lemon Tree
The Baader Meinhof Complex
Army of Shadows
My Left Foot
Winter's Bone
In the Name of the Father
The Man from London
The Piano (I'm assuming this one is a must?)

breaking bad

kids in the hall

Downton abbey definitely worth watching. There isn't much of it so doesn't require a huge commitment, its charming, whitty, gripping, well casted and just generally enjoyable.
i don't watch much TV but you might try these movies as well:
- Master of the Flying Guillotine only available on DVD, the prequel called One Armed Boxer doesn't seem to be available at all. Quintessential chop socky cheese, half of this movie was reshot for Kill Bill.
- SLC Punk (on the slim chance you haven't seen it)
- Red Beard - only available on DVD, but I'm guessing you've seen all of the streamable Akira Kurosawa flicks.
- Men Behind the Sun - another DVD only film, terrible movie with some superb gore.
