Think this thread will get big in no time [86] My latest nomination is this trend I am witnessing of women wearing scarves in the summer. What magazine genius told them to do this? It's 90 f-ing degrees outside. [72]
On a side note - do you think the AA owner (what's his name) screws his male models too or only the chicks?

sucks if you have an 'outie.' joking aside though, WOW that is pretty appalling. and someone please stop the girls in LA wearing huge houndstooth scarves as bandanas around their mouths in the summer. how does the shortness help for "scrimmage"? scrimmage in what, football?
makes me think of johnny depp in terror on elm street.. he's sporting a cropped american football shirt. I approve, krueger didnt..

[86] the best part is when they have the scarf on and a tank top. i have been seeing this all over too...95 degrees outside and i try to wear as little layers as possible. its even worse when you see someone with a tank top, shorts, a long wrapped scarf and uggs.
Distraction is an obstruction of the construction.
[quote user="merz"]there is a method to this madness, mr faust - i wear scarves in the summer primarily to avoid having the back of my neck burned ;)

I always forget that summer in NY and "summer" in LA are not the same thing, but then I hear something like this . . .
:sigh:
I think it's going to be time for a move out west soon. but LA, i don't know.
Life in LA
[74] Return of the hunk! That guy always posts pics like that. What i dont understand is that most of his items are S or XS but he looks like hulk...he must be a midget...
Enviormental freaks, move away! My scarf will travel around the world and back!

i fucking hate that douchebag.

= me in reference to almost everyone I've met from LA, which is, admittedly, almost exclusively limited to ex-harvard-westlake, brentwood & crossroads kids.
EDIT: This is to say: I've never been.

Yes. Those short shirts are for american football practice. They go over pads.

IV, no need to be upset; it's actually a take on a post-war model of the B-7 shearling (shown below), accurate copy-cating even to it's distinct vertical paneling on the left side of the toggles. I was never impressed with Cloak, it was essentially an exercise in recycling obscure military garments with little to no stylistic additions to the actual pieces they were based on. Although I am impressed with their level of research on uniforms. *
*Probably gonna get castrated by the Cloak fanboys. [73]
EDIT: Yes, I'm aware that reinterpreting classic garments is an integral part of fashion (of which I'm a fan actually), but I guess I'm just recovering from the last couple of year's horrible onslaught of everyone and their grandma doing an M65 jacket.
thanks commierabbit! fun info.

Alrighty... you guys are just asking for it. Keep posting pics of these awful garments and shoes and soon enough I'm going to do a google search for 1) Julien Macdonald's Givenchy Couture tenure and 2) anything from Andrew Mackenzie (especially S/S 06... I think it was that season... anyway the one with the haltertops and cutoff denim shorts for men).
...don't say you haven't been warned!
As for those Viridianne sandals... ouch! But, one thing I've noticed about recent trends in Japanese footwear is that the more garish and embellished, the better and more desirable they seem to be. This past summer, the big thing was incredibly pointy-toed shoes with all of these crazy additions, from various exotic skins mismatched to rhinestones to zippers to grommets to (you guessed it)... feathers. The end result was something that looked like Dr. Frankenstein had an affair with Donald J. Pliner.
