strangely enough, I stopped by atelier with my girlfriend last friday before seeing this, and was hyping it up to james. really fantastic movie. when I was leaving the theater a guy behind me asked his wife(?) what she thought of it and the response was: instant classic. couldn't agree more.

edit: this deserves to be in the movie thread though...

Watching this now, classic material. I don't know how many times I've watched this and it's just as great every time!

I also saw Burn after reading the other day and liked it a lot. I can see why people are hating on it as it might be too strange and unfocused for some. I also believe that beforehand people thought that this movie was going to be "haha" funny when it's actually more like for example O brother where art thou. In other words, the fun is in the absurdity of it all.

I really enjoyed this one in terms of humour, but I didn't find the plot nearly as compelling as some of the other Coen bros movies I've seen.

is there anything good playing in theaters at the moment?

            Oprah's sex show

i normally dont watch the Oprah show, but I taped her show today.
            the candid discussion about sex

It was really good and done in a humorous way to lighten the mood.

The statistics are quite amazing about how many women and men really do not know anything about anatomy and how to pleasure one another. People did not know how many different kinds of orgasms a woman can have. Do you know?

I was totally thinking about doing mashed sweet potatoes using mascarpone cheese instead of butter or sour cream...what's your receipe?

And to stay on topic, they (the Top Chef judges) should have sent both ostrich egg lover and sickly sweet lemon martini maker home. Oh well.
