ASoIaF has problems with GRRM likes to just go for pages describing food or castles. Game of Thrones streamlines it quite a bit. I prefer the books more... but the show is still quite enjoyable.

I love watching Masterchef... it's fun and not intellectually stimulating

Well, I`m glad I watched the wire after Treme. I absolutely loved how they mixed storytelling, some interesting characters and the music. I became enamoured with New Orleans ecause of the show. If you don`t get used to the music being a central part of it, then you won`t end up liking it.

i just finished 2 seasons of Derek. big mistake to cast karl pilkington to follow scripted dialogue. he's much better in An Idiot Abroad. this show was more of a tear-jerker than funny.

if you didn't cry when they put down the dog, then there's something wrong with you. and if you didn't cry again when Kev build Derek the robot dog (with a real sausage tail), then you're fucked up..

Saw a few eps, rather liked it but not ready to watch a long series all at once so it will have to wait a few weeks at the minimum.

I don't think I really got into Treme until season 3. I'd watch it but very intermittently it's definitely well made, but didn't seem to ever really hit the critical mass of care that wire did after ~5 episodes for me.

I mostly assumed that part of the pay off is if you care about New Orleans jazz culture, which I really didn't... or about New Orleans culture in general.

I loved the 3 first seasons mainly because the hood slang was a fun thing to learn lol

literally *wont spoil* the most gruesome death I have ever seen on TV, made me feel sick/depressed/disgusted.

Also seriously alot of trash filler scenes starting to lose interest in the show wondering if just reading the books will be better. A lot of good characters are losing what made them appealing or just straight up dying.

I finally started watching game of thrones too, binged watched it and now I'm caught up to where the show is. And yeah seriously, that death was ridiculous. It literally bothered me for a while after seeing it haha. I think I might start reading from the 3rd book onwards though because you are definitely right about the fillers becoming boring

How did True Blood get so awful?

I saw the YSL movie - it was pretty awful. Very typical biopic, very little insight.

I got sucked in to true detective.

I have a sad weakness for gothic/cyberpunk stuff.

Considering that true detective has neither, I find that an odd viewing choice for you.

^True Detective is influenced by and references The King in Yellow, and H.P. Lovecraft referenced that quite a bit as well, so it's kind of gothic for the hardcore supernatural horror geek?

I'm stumped on the cyberpunk part though.
