I'm glad and curious about the apparent interest in scandinavian design in the US (and Canada, Dane ). Is it just me that's been ignorant or is this something that's becoming bigger in the US? Maybe it's always been as big as it is now and the only contact with american homes I've had is through sit coms.

I have followed some US/CA blogs with scandinavian touch quite some time, mostly cause it's interesting to see their take on it.

As far as I remember Scandinavian design has always been big here.

People here love Ikea's aesthetic...but want better (ie - actual) quality, hence the further interest in Scandinavian design. As far as I know though, companies like Artek have always had a NA fanbase.

No it died and came back in the 2000s, but it came back big. If you go to quality second-hand/vintage furniture shops all over north america all yu can find is Scandinavian design.
