I've only been to the Peter Luger location in Great Neck but I'll finally be making it out to the original one in Brooklyn on my birthday! I haven't had some really good steak in a long time

I did eat steak. It was delicious. But I would never order a steak anywhere else or buy it at the butcher or anything like that, it never does anything for me, so that's what I mean by "I don't even really like steak...".

However, I also ate the tomato/onion salad, the bacon (another food I don't care for at all), the creamed spinach, the broccoli, and a sundae for dessert. All were delish. Like, I was completely baffled by how such simple items could be so good.

The only thing I didn't like was the dining room. It was so lit up and bright, but I guess that's the "old school" thing they have going for them. I even loved the cynical/sarcastic attitudes of the employees.

I would've said The Wreck Room for the diviest of bars but they closed down 2 months ago. Pine Box Rock Shop has a good beer selection, but the atmosphere is...different.

If you want dive with atmosphere, look no further than the landmark institution PUMPS.
