Nyc clubs/bars/music spots

hey fam,
i just moved to ny
now i want to find some cool spots to hang out
i like to go out to clubs -
not the mainstream ones where they play souljaboy but
id like to know some spots where they bring in good djs/musicians
i used to hang out at sonoteque or funky buddha in chicago
it would be great if u let me know even a website where i can find out what shows r coming up? now i only have bluenote/metromix/knittingfactory

I like to go to the Bunker in Brooklyn and listen to house. I also like be around Nolita if I have to go out, especially a little french joint named Lulu's is very cozy. But what do I know, I'm soaking wet behinds my ears when it comes to New York Nightlife.

You can party/pull, drink, jam out every day but you need to help us narrow it down.

Give some info and ill try to help. I lived in NYC for a long while and I still call it home but I havent been a resident in a few years.

i checked the other threads and i've been to santos party house - i like the vibe there..sorta like sonoteque in chicago
i was suppose to be goin to cielo today but i just woke up so..

Can someone recommend a lounge that has a private area for about a dozen people? Could be a wine bar or a tapas/sangria place, nothing extraordinary, just good food and drink. Thank you in advance.
