Definitely Egon Schiele; you can see his influences in some of Poell's designs.

    YSL :
    • Scenery and costumes for theater productions : Cyrano de Bergerac, Figaro’s wedding (not sure of the english title)
    • Same for movies: The pink Panther, Stavisky, Belle de jour (along with a bunch of Deneuve movies)
    • Sculptor Claude Lalanne made metal bustiers to be worn with his couture dresses.
    • Photographer Jean-Loups Sieff took a famous portrait of YSL naked

There’s a bunch of other stuff but you get the idea.
Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

May Tomorrow Shine The Brightest Of All Your Many Days As It Will Be Your Last
            [UK, 13 min, 16mm, b/w, 2009]

Somewhere in the backwoods at the turn of i'm not sure which century, a crack unit of female Japanese soldiers track a group of lost, ancient desperadoes. They dig holes, they read, their leader channels the ghost of Italian sound poets (as yet unborn..?), all the while moving onward...but who is searching for who and why? Hand-processed with a soundtrack cobbled together from dictaphone recordings, old 78s, hiss and scratches and whines.

Yohji did the costumes for Takeshi Kitano's movie, 'Dolls' and Wim Wenders made a film with him as far as I remember. I also believe Pina Bausch was for a long time his Muse, at least she was photographed a few times during fittings in his Paris ateliers.

hey there, there was this show at the kölnischer kunstverein, where cologne artist thomas grünfeld included cdg outfits alongside his, um, sculptures. title was déformation professionelle. back in 1997.
                        rather an uneasy joint.

                          My emergence from lurkhood--

Jim Drain had some sweaters produced for Opening Ceremony. Very anti-sz styles, but they were pretty fantastic objects.

Did anyone see the bizarre Kenneth Anger video for Missoni?

George Condo made some nice masks for Adam Kimmel's FW10 collection.

Interesting topic. Isn't it possible to add a few names more to Comme des Garcons?

A few other names are Cindy Sherman, Florian Hecker, Simen Johan, David Lynch, Ai Weiwei (current season), Stephen J. Shanabrook, Silvia Kolbowski, Peter Eisenman, Raymond Pettibon, Yayoi Kasuma, Gregory Blackstock, Marc Atlan, Mondongo, Risa Fukui, Katerina Jebb and Laurie Simmons.

It's kind of funny. Once in an interview, Kawakubo stated "I'm not interested in art".
