But on serious note, how often you ride it, how can you describe perfomance? It looks very decent (but could use matt black paintjobs).
Haha, I would paint it black, but it's worth more as a collector's status bike- I've brought it up to perfect condition. That paint is older than I am (1981)! Performance-wise, it's a 400cc bike, which should be plenty for a beginner, but I would prefer something that cuts a bit harder into the road. It's a great bike, mind you- all bikes are performance vehicles, from 250s to 2500s. I like that mine is soft, quiet and modest, but still kicks ass. Only problem is that drapes can and will get caught in moving parts on a bike, so no wraps or long cardigans, etc.

And don't you mean every Russian should have a Ural??

This has been my personal favorite for a while..

The one I posted is actually a Gilera 500GP. 500cc, and went like stink. Over 225 kmh! In 1956!! For a fully working, intact model, one would have to raise 200,000 EUR.

amazing, i think i have some prejudice because my father had both of the above bikes as well
Gilera are an amazing example of Italian ingenuity, they were followed closely by MV Agusta and purchased by Piaggio...
Fantastic still none the less, i will have to look into these more.. thanks

edit: Those ducatis a few years ago were fetching a mean 100k AU and 120k USD!

I'm into old cafe racers. Old Norton's are incredible to ride and the new Norton Commando looks great.

Beau the 1955 Moto Guzzi Otto Cilindri (Moto Guzzi V8, which also was a 500cc Grand Prix racing bike) produced speeds of +280kmph, though very dangerous.

I adore Moto Guzzi. Amazing that 500cc is all you needed to get going very fast. I like new bikes, but some engines just seem so unbearably large.

Not as fast as anything you have posted, but this is my baby. It's a 1967 Vespa Super Sport 180 with a PX200 EFL euro-import motor. I just had it painted pure white. Have a look!

I know. It's just an example. I want the same model, but all original inside. Hard to find, but there is a chance to find it in Japan. Just like the clothes we're addicted to ))))

I'm a big fan of Vespa and I don't like bikes like Ducatti 999. I'm not that kind of russian who likes a fast ride))) I like classic style like Triumph Bonneville

Triumphs are for the win. And seeing the state you normally ride your Vespa in, I am glad you do not like fast rides :)

Not to mention creative usage of Vespa helmet you shown me...

indeed, also amazing that these kinda machines (500cc) were being built around the mid-late 1920's.

I have appreciation for all kinds of motorbikes including cafe racer styles, not limited to Triumph, though i love the TT Special 650 ( Inspired by The Great Escape and Steve McQueen)An instant hit in both the UK and America, essentially the T120 (American Terminology) was a high performance, twin carburettor version of Triumph’s T110 Tiger model.

50 years of the Bonneville this year

I want to give special mention to another British Motorcycle company:
                              The Norton Manx or M30

I love the small <50cc bikes as well. The Honda Ruckus is better known to me as the Honda Zoomer as i was introduced in Japan.

                              also:
                              Honda Monkey (so cute)

                              lastly the Honda Gorilla

                                I can't believe I missed this thread.

I've been riding for 8 years now and have been eyeing an MV Agusta or Duc 1198.

Some of my past bikes include a heavily modified 2002 Yamaha R1 and a 2005 R1 Raven (black with red accents)

I currently own a 2008 Can-Am Spyder (3 wheel trike) which is 1000cc and quite fun.

I think the 2010 MV F4 looks absolutely amazing in grey. The updated 4 rectangular pipes look sharp
