I smoke cigars very casually, maybe twice in the last year but I did have fun both times. Anyone know of really great cigar bars in NYC? Also, any good cigar recommendations?

Just came back to smoking. Don't ever quit because someone else did, went through hell of a withdrawal symptoms and I fucking wish they would be physical ones.

Gonna roll now though, comes out at least 50% cheaper and after quiting I can't imagine blowing so much money on this again.

That's how i quit too. I got hit by a flu for a week then just went straight without smoking. I am smoke free now for a year + after smoking for almost 8-9 years. Cold turkey is the only way

Some excellent cigars are Cohiba Esplendios and Cohiba Behike 52's. They're more on the pricey side, for a more everyday cigar I'd recommend a Hoya de Monterray Epicure No.2.

Cigar Inn in NYC is decent from what I've heard.

As far as cigar recommendations, Roma Craft is doing some fantastic stuff. If you can get a Mode 5 that is a great start. Also, Tatuaje just released the Black Label Corona Gorda a few days ago. Grab some if you can find them. The Liga Privada UF-13 is another solid stick.

What do you use to roll? I've been buying a pack of Top every 3 or 4 months (how long it lasts) for the past year, but the stuff is starting to get to me...i found a twig my newest bag last night. A literal stick. I seriously need to find a better cheap tobacco.

weird how it hits some and not others. I was a heavy smoker for three years but after my social circle shifted, got a new job, focused more on health, etc, I just up and quit one week and had virtually no problems. Maybe the first week was bad but that was about two years ago and haven't had a cig since. A cigar every once in a while but nothing that leaves my craving. My friend on the other hand tried and got the shakes.

Quit almost a month ago, rolled Lucky Strikes for a year, then switched to Marlboro reds, only thing keeping me from going back is looking into my wallet every once in a while and seeing it full.
