Recently been drinking a lot of sauternes in the evenings. Slowly working my way through a bottle of 2005 Chateau Suduiraut which is beyond delicious.

Finally found a bottle from Maynard Keenan's vineyard and found the Chupacabra blend from his Merkin vineyards to be pretty tasty actually and very reasonable in price.

Once again Theetruscan continues to blow minds with his gastronomic/oenophilic knowledge!

Oh..btw. i was recommended by the sales at that liquor store to try out
        the Affligem Blond...

acceptable but wasn't as good as i expected

        and this...

"Scaldis Noël" tastes unexpectedly well (the logo and color looks kinda ugly so i didn't even look at it first. but the sales insisted me to try it..so yeah...)
        remarkable smooth sparkles.
        That champagne-like aftertone...
It says at the back that it's brewed specially for the Christmas period.
Definitely going back to get some more in case they run out.

Just finished this Dominique Piron last night with a friend.

"Best of Show" in the 2012 Vancouver Magazine Wine Awards.

After decanted it for a bit (around 20 minutes) the fruitful aroma came out. It was such a rich, balaced, and delicious flavour. Undoubtedly, the best i've ever handled so far(taking the price into consideration. It's only 25ish bucks)

Gran Cerdo is a great wine dedicated to the bank executives
that denied loans to us on the basis that wine is not seizable asset.
One day, these greasy and sweaty corporate suits will find that the
best things in life can not be impounded.
Thanks to our friends help, we were finally able to bottle this wine.
Now you can enjoy is with pasta or ham.

              My kind of wine.

In vino, veritas. (What wine are you drinking?)

I'm still new to the board, but wine is what I know. You teach me fashion, I give you wine. It need not be expensive to be beautiful, and I could not find a wine thread, so if you will play with me, I'll play back. I work for a single restaurant as a sommelier, not as a rep or distributor, so I have only to give you what I love.

Let us begin with a beautiful Grenache from Maury, France. It fits the SZ aesthetic visually on-label, but breaks the mold of what most of us read on Grenache. It is dry, unlike Maury wine, produced by Dave Phinney (formerly of Orin Swift) and Joel Gott, redolent of dark red fruits like cherry and pomegranate, the entry is clean with moderate tannin lasting through midpalate. Exceptional depth for its retail. The wine has been produced in two vintages thus far, and both the 11 and 10 are lovely. Serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit, 13 centigrade, with lamb or duck served rare. Herbs and dried fruits enhance the lingering complexity. If you need recipes, PM me. Wine website here: http://www.shatterwine.com/index-home.htm

                    Mods:
I hope this is okay, its how I hope to give meaningful contribution to the community in light of what this group has given to me.

I am not a fan of wine at all but due traditional reasons and my ethnicity I only drink Persian Wine(Mey) or Shirazi Wine

Well, I have had 2 lovely wines in the past couple of weeks.
                          One a 2003 Brane-Cantenac - a delicious Margaux.
The other a 2007 Roda I Reserva. Both not ridiculously priced and can be sourced with wine-searcher.com
Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.

Eiswein is truly a gift to the palate, like sauternes or maury. As long as you serve it really cold and alongside dishes which are at least as sweet as your quaff you will do well. If there is a sweetness discrepancy, your wine will taste flat. Any Rheinessen is good, but I love a Silvaner grape focus, and Frank Brockien in particular. My longtime favorite is Dr. Loosen from the Mosel. A lavender and pastry cream crepe is gorgeous and easy to make. For Rheingau, Baron Von Zu Knyphausen is choice. Late Harvest Riesling with Botrytis aromatics. You will want vintages from at least 10 years ago. Does that help? I could give you more but I don't want to bore you. Do you like Tokaji? It is also super sweet, but anything with a 4 puttonyos designation is rewarding.
It's hungarian, and a delight. Do a sweet cheese and fruit course and you will thank me. Please ask me anything!

The Brane is a wonderful presentation, and that year saw especially lovely settled tannin. As a second growth it really cuts the price from Ch. Margaux without sacrificing any context or flavor. Do you like a St. Emillion? If you do I readily recommend Ch. Simard. They hold their vintages about ten years before release and do good on bang-for-buck. Similar price point to the Brane but from the Right Bank, and thus a Merlot concentration. The winemaker at Brane is also currently doing a lot of work at Lurton. If you want to branch over to Spain I can give you ideas.
