Ok, arriving friday morning and leaving friday evening so 13hrs layover. What should I do?

Let me know about things that are nearby cause I'm lazy, was thinking Rijksmuseum and some café/restaurant nearby. Maybe a store.

      awaiting recommandations.

The refurbished Rijksmuseum is a must. Carmacoma is really the only store worth visiting for a guy (add Ravelstein for a woman) and is a 10 min walk from the museum. The Droog complex is another 10 minutes from there and is also worth a visit.

And if you find a lunch place the serves something other than broodjes, please let me know, I beg you.

Sprkmrkt has bbs, if you are into that sort of thing. A wonderful industrial design store I on every block.

          I liked the stedelijk.

SPRMRKT is looking more and more like OAK and less and less like Atelier. Which is understandable, of course. When I went a few months ago, there were only a couple of BBS pieces, not that Fuuma is interested in that to begin with.

Next to Noordermarkt is a restaurant called Noordwest, I had a pleasant lunch there. Fresh pasta, salad, quiche, et cetera. I also love the area; right next to is a shop specialized in vintage glasses (think 1920s onwards) and the Café Winkel, where they sell the (arguably) best apple pie in town.
Noordermarkt itself is one of the fewer places in the city to get really good (artisanal, maybe) bread, by the way.

If Broodjes are okay for you, go to the Hartenkaas in the 9 Streets area, Reestraat to be exact. They have a huge selection of very good cheeses and prepare it all fresh. It’s a good deal there.

The good thing about Amsterdam is that you can easily walk all distances within a district. Noordermarkt and the 9streets are about 10-15 minutes from the Rijksmuseum, for example.

If you look for an alternative to parks, seek some recreation in the eastern docks. Javaeiland for instance is a very calm and green neighborhood. You can sit atop the quay walls and watch ducklings swim by.

              edit
And I’d pick the Stedelijk over Rijksmuseum and FOAM over Museum voor Fotografie.

I will be there from Fri - Sun this week.
Looking for a place to have dinner on Friday. Should be sth special (please, no french cuisine) but nothing overly expensive. Afterwards, we're going to see DVS1

Any other tips / recommendations on what to see during the weekend and where to eat on the remaining days?

edit. Is the kitchen in Trouw any good?
                  What about Blauw?

Blauw is good, the Trouw Restaurant is ok.

I would recommend to check out 'Bak', 'Repere' and 'Cafe Modern'. All of these need a reservation at least a day in advance.

Also check out 'Baut', I don't know if it's still open, but it was next to Trouw.

It's been a while since I've been but strangely enough this franchise (Wok to Walk) is one of the best places I've eaten anywhere for a quick meal:

I got a table at De Culinaire Werkplaats, sounds really interesting

edit. The coffee tipps are greatly appreciated, as well. Thanks!

vesper is a nice place to get some cocktails.

the atmosphere is relaxed and the service was great.

the place is rather small, though (which is not a bad thing).
