Until just now I wasn't sure if it was just the thumb and pointer finger cut off, we had thought so after seeing the first runway photos. It's funny because my husband did this to his leather gloves in November claiming you only need these two fingers exposed to do anything. (He does not have an iphone).

I like it all, alot better than s/s which is way too sporty/technical for me.

The new materials are great and practical for winter too. Maybe its just me but I see a bit of Damir Doma in the general style, winter in the desert. Also the overall quality seems very high. You can definitely see the luxury coming though.

On the wedges, I always think that they are released purely for the vertically challenged amoungst us.

By the way, here are a few more images of the blister leather coats that are bonded with a thin layer of neoprene on the back side, thus creating a stiff, foam-y drape, similarily to the paper-y macintosh fabric used on some other jackets.

Besides the initial worries, I'm thinking that the combination of the scrapped leather surface, combined with the manipulated drape, makes for a great contrast between the streamlined, cleaned-up shape of the coat (it closes only with the belt) and the irregular leather texture (not so much visible from any of the images, except from the detail shot).

Don't forget that RO is an Italian brand.

I'd the same feeling, some fabrics are so precious, almost shinny, and sometimes bordering vulgarity.

I think this season's jacket is very long, longer than before. People who are like me without a very tall figure will look extremely short in these jackets.

^^ Particularly enamoured of this coat...

However, I'm not feeling the fur/snakeskin in the least bit.

I was hugely let down by most of the woven fabrics they used this season for all the outerwear and tailoring... either way too shiny/glitter-y in a cheap and cheesy way or completely inappropriate for being used on tailored garments (macintosh poplin coating or semi-transparent wool gauze for blazers and chesterfield coats).

I personally wouldn't go for any of the more structured tailoring to be perfectly honest... those fabrics as well as the extreme shoulder pads on some of the more pronounced jackets are making the impression of an overall just very ill-fitted and constructed jacket.

This was actually the only substantial fabric choice and I believe it was kind of a wool and silk blend... quite stiff and foam-y in drape and a just a slight bit shiny, however not as nice as the silk radzimir fabric from FW'09 that Christian's had the Dom Coat ordered in.

the white coat looks a bit like Jil Sander to me (not Armani). She made a collection with coats that looked like made from padded material, slightly cocoon shape. It was beautiful. Part of this collection looks really feminine (which is not a bad thing:)
