Shocked just like everyone else. Really unique mind. I am kind of glad his work was shown to the mainstream via Lady GaGa's constant donning of his pieces.

Is happiness really that elusive? You would think that being able to express yourself creatively would take away a lot of the chaos in oneself but some of the best artists have fallen prey to the discontent within them.

beautiful. While it is unfortunate I never clicked with his work on a level connected to my personal aesthetic, I think he had real vision as evidenced by the photo above.

i would kill for that jacket. i think there are some beautiful pieces here and there that i can take and wear, some that i'd admire from afar and some that makes me go 'huh' but theres an artistic flair his stuff i love and watching his runways are a joy.

There's an article on the NYtimes...This is sad news.

What will happen with Alexander McQueen the label/brand as it's owned by Gucci Group. I believe he famously stated that he would not want it to continue without him at the helm.

This is awful.

i don't think anyone could take his place, i hope it isn't true, though i guess at this point it's too soon to think of..

I'm going to make a prediction and say that I bet and halfway hope that Gareth Pugh takes over Alexander Mcqueen. I know it may be too soon to talk about it but I certainly hope that his vision doesn't go down with him.
I still can't believe this. I wasn't exactly the biggest AM fan, I mean, I liked him but didn't love him...and now I feel like he was just a complete complete complete genius and easily one of the most important designers/artists of our time.

It's such a sad event really... I've been thinking and watching his stuff lately for some reason. I hope they'll really think through the successor and the future of the house.

Happiness might be a wrong choice but I cannot think of a better noun for what I mean.
I would like to think happiness is a state of being content with yourself as a human & how uncomprimising you are with your beliefs & having the strength to overcome lifes problems.
