Ok, now I just found out some of the projected retail prices for DD womenswear in US$, and let's say, it puts Rick Owens to shame!
We are talking about $2980 for a pair of DD leather leggings, and $5650 for his horse leather jacket. I mean, I thought $1800 Ann Demeulemeester leather leggings and $3000 Rick Owens leather jacket are expensive?! Also, DD cotton shirts retail from $700 to $1200, and it's just cotton, and please, I cannot imagine any, ANY fabric mill in Japan or Italy wholesaling cotton batiste for $20 per meter, being that even organic cotton from Italy wholesales for $3 per meter. I mean, Damir, did you grow that silk worm and weave that jersey yourself? Because you better be for the price you are charging!
Oh man, oh man, where have I been hiding?
Prices aside (which I thought was too embarrassing even to look at). The construction of clothes, as some else here compared, to Jil Sander. I have to say, DD's tailoring skill is NOTHING like Jil Sander's. What with that puckering on the shoulder? And don't tell me that is intentional. And yes, the tension on the over-lock machine is off, need to adjust that to the different weights of jersey you are serging!!!
And yes, yes, yes, I understand about all the "artisanal" quality and all that. But yes, there is a difference between "artisanal" and just plain "home-made".
