Can't wait to see this on the street; it's already bad here but the typical Balenciaga client will make it look 10 times worst. One of the biggest (and most tragic-comic) disconnect between image and consumer in fashion.

Holy shit that's a joke right? WTF of the year, I can't even find consistency under that giant opaque pile of repulsion. I can't wait to see what buyers pick. Now this is going to be a hell of a fun season to watch.

It's not pretty, but it's new. The past few Balenciaga collections have reminded me somewhat of what Junya Watanabe was doing 10-15 years ago - it was often unattractive, but you really believed that you'd never seen anything like it, and it kept you interested. Lately Junya's mostly been making the same two collection over and over again in different fabrics, so I'm glad that at least someone still does this kind of thing.

I don't see how it's new, droogist. Unless you meant the interpretation is new? It's the same retro-futuristic stuff he's been doing for the last few years, but in a different package. And, unlike Chalayan, who is actually making the future, this is just one of those doomed-to-fail fantasies a-la the 50s.

Of course Cathy Horyn loved it. I think she carries the kool-aid in a flask, helping herself to it before the show.

Close ups are interesting, but I don't see how the print highlights anything, I mean it draws attention away more than anything in my opinion and simply makes it look all wrong.
