that's always a hard line to thread , defining your own style separate from your inspirations , but generally we are so influenced by everything around us , that it's better to dive into it , dissect it and figure out what and why you like it exactly and how it manifest in your own work and then expand , enhance , modify , redefine ... no use in reinventing the wheel , not only is it not a good use of time , but it's nearly impossible to reject all previous images and design from a blank slate ... your own style will emerge over time , because there will very rarely be an item you see that you wouldn't change to make it better in your eye
