Actually Atelier themselves carried undercover for a time. And Faust is right, it did not sell (which is too bad). I think their retail outside of Japan is just too high, and they don't have the same kind of cache that Visvim is currently enjoying.

Had no clue Atelier ever had Undercover but I am relatively new to Atelier. I started following the store somewhat around late 2011. The first time that I walked in, I never would have guessed that Undercover ever stood there. Visvim is a really good case of a brand raising their prices exponentially while still growing exponentially. I remember when getting a pair of FBT's was nothing back in the days when Union was on Spring street. I also find that Undercover is a lot harder to wear, harder for people to transition into. A lot of the fashion crowd that popularized the whole menswear movement, have adopted Visvim because it's next level Americana. I wouldn't even be surprised if Visvim opened up a brick and mortar in NY soon.

I've been working in the same building for the past few days and word on the street is they're hoping to open by the end of the month!
