hmm...well, that was basically my gut reaction upon seeing that picture. There isn't any real deeper 'why' behind it...one thing that i've found frustrating about communicating on the internet via a forum is that often times a simple thing (such as a picture, or a sentence) will be overanalyzed and dissected way beyond reason or purpose, especially in a snowball effect when all the noise and chatter from all parties bundles up until the meaning of the original thing being commented on becomes drowned out...hence why I pretty much stopped going to Styleforum. Sometimes things just are, I guess...

pardon that rant - i like your approach and devotion to yohji, and have liked fits of yours in the past. this one just came across as too much goin on.

well if you want a more detailed explanation...i think it's because there's quite a bit goin on with that jacket to begin with, havin all those pockets...and then the black top seems like there are a lot of details goin on.

Come to think of it, that's a jacket that I think looks great on its own, laying on a rack, but when worn it is not something I appreciate as much. Maybe a black overcoat with something less overt as those pockets staring right at you, some subtle details in the sides or less in plain view would have worked better with it..then again i have always been more stripped down in my approach to dressing, perhaps what i enjoy from the outside reflects this to a certain extent.

No, you're absolutely right. Ann knows what she does.
The oversized shirt covers the thighs, so there's no need to shorten again the legs in the lower part by tucking the pants in the boots. The outfit would be better with shoes, but I promised to post a fit pic of the boots as soon as possible (they are darker IRL, the flashlight increases their dusty whitness).

chant : very nice fit ! but as you also said before, ann knows what she's doing .. i prefer wearing mine (boots generally) with cropped trousers, i think this would have pushed this outfit to the max :)
