I also was under the impression that Amadei was somewhat in charge of Carpe leather work. I can't really recall where I got this impression from, but thats what I've always thought anyway. I actually wanted to ask Amadei more about this, but he seemed to want to talk about those days rather briefly.

I always thought Sarah Lanzi was more involved with Linea, but again just some impression I had, no facts

Altieri was master of his domain.

Wasn't there an article a few years back stating that? Lanzi and Amadei had their hands in Linea, but there are a couple of other designers that had as much if not more input than they did. Just so happens these two started their own lines and were receiving press.
I was talking to the designer who had sat down with Altieri about Linea. They sat down and worked to make it a reality, but she stressed that this was something that was birthed and nurtured on Altieri's principles and vision alone. I think that's all that matters. Everyone seems to be interjecting with the roles that designer's played in the Carpe Diem house. But the fact of the matter is, they were all fortunate to be a part of Altieri's movement and his influence on all of them can be seen in their work to this day. If that doesn't speak volumes.....

the pricing discussion got me thinking, the wallet is something I don't regret buying for a second, though I did pay a bit less than the US retail for it. but regardless, never have I gotten so many compliments for an accessory. and having recently experimented with various kind leather crafting, I've understood how hard it is to handle especially with smaller patterns. I dont have the slightest clue how the folding is achieved so that it works and also lasts, apart from slight darkening in colour mine still looks the same after a year of heavy daily use. I keep it in my back pocket so it rubs on jeans 18h a day, and its in great shape so the quality of the leather seems very good

It just came up, that your love, mentioned a certain sportiness
in some of his work, which I have never thought about, as there
has always been this focus on the "povera" part, and I kind of
agree with her here. Maybe why I have always been a bit hesitant
to his work. Also if you look at the photo of him in the
"designer lookalike", if you gave him some white trainers on, he
looks like somebody who's about to go jogging.

I think you should listen more often to her!
