BLACK ASTEROID FEAT. ZOLA JESUS: HOWL

“Howl” is the latest single from Black Asteroid featuring vocals from Zola Jesus. For the video, Bryan Black tapped Rick Owens for clothing using looks from his Mastodon AW2017 collection. Black and Danilova (Zola Jesus) met when he opened for her on her European tour. They bonded over their admiration of Owens and decided that they should collaborate in the future. The video centers on Zola Jesus juxtaposed with Icelandic landscapes.

For Black Asteroid, the single is an experiment with Black’s fascination with techno and vocals, which is usually frowned upon within the techno scene. “Techno was started as a ‘futurist’ statement – but is actually very conservative, and doesn’t like change. Nothing excites me more than to challenge that,” Black told us.

The single is out now with remixes to follow shortly, and will be included in Black Asteroid’s forthcoming album “Thrust,” which will be released in July.
