Comme des Garcons Parfum – Blue Invasion

Rei Kawakubo is no stranger to contradiction, as she has shown time and time again by sending collections down the runway that have upend conventions about how we should dress. Now this contrarian spirit takes shape in the new series of Comme des Garcons perfumes called Blue INVASION.

The idea behind this series was to reveal the contradictory coolness of three typically warm scent notes: incense, cedarwood, and sandalwood. The result is an unexpected blend of wood, spice and incense deftly combined to reveal refreshingly warm layers.

BLUE ENCENS: An fusion of mystical incense and crushed Artemisia contrasted with blazing frozen spices. Crisp aromatic Artemisia, frozen spices (Indian cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon), mystical incense, mineral amber crystals.

BLUE CEDRAT: A combination of fiery Virginian cedarwood with metallic rose and a zesty, bitter quinine accord. Italian cedar, bitter quinine accord (juniper berries, Angelica roots), metallic rose, Virginian cedarwood.

BLUE SANTAL: An iced, cooling Australian sandalwood accompanied with warm pine notes and sharp juniper berries. Mediterranean parasol pine, juniper berry essence, blue pepper, Australian sandalwood.

As usual, Comme des Garcons’ contradiction is of the playful nature, as evidenced in the cool blue packaging that can only be called cute.

The Eau de Parfum 100 ml natural spray retails for $125 and is available now at Comme des Garcons shops and online at
