Alright, I'll be the first to start this thread. I took a chance and ordered this, thinking I'd take a chance and figure out how to wear it once I got it- but I'm stuck. any pointers?
Hmm, that might be hard to pull off. I would wear it over a jet black leather jacket so you have a contrast in the materials (leather will probably be shinier than this), and wrap it around like a big scarf.
Coldrice, a hint - you can pick your sex by clicking on your profile (the link with your name on top of this page). you can also pick your avatar, etc.

Its a bit tricky because it seems to be so thick. But i actually think u could wear it whatever u prefer. The two lenghts just hanging down and a jacket over or maybe one of the lenghts wrapped around your neck and the other hanging down. hard to see from the pictures. is that a hood on top?
So Carpe Diem makes (made?) something very similar. A turtleneck type center piece with two lengths coming down. You were supposed to wear it on the neck and then wrap the two parts around as if it were a singular scarf... i think it'd work exactly the same way here.
haha it is cdiem. i returned it. it didn't really work even wrapping the two parts around as a scarf, it would make the shape of the neckwarmer very odd.
So I just got a pair of what seem to be light brown CCP pants. I've never owned a pair of brown pants in any shade in my life so I was just wondering what I should wear them with (especially in terms of belt and shoes) hahaha.
Most of my closet is black or white!
Thanks guys (and gals!),
Albert
Are they a gray enough shade of brown that I can wear black boots with them? I was thinking something simple and clean: white shirt, these pants, some boots.
Looks like I may have to spring for a CCP belt too hehehe.
in general i was under the impression that black and brown was not a good combination. it can be pulled off, but it has to been done a certain way. but your pants don't look brown at all on my screen
Brown has always been a difficult color for me so I tend to avoid it. Navy or light blue is probably the easiest combination with brown. Brown and black is against "the rules" but I don't think many of us care about that, you can make it work. The last couple pics on the sartorialist have featured men in black pants with brown shoes and it looks good, so I think the reverse would be OK. Grey works nicely too, I usually wear a grey sweater with my brown cords it feels very fall to me.
I am a conoisseur of brown pants. I now have five pairs, believe it or not. Personally I don't feel comfortable wearing them with all black shoes (I am stupidly fussy about this - I only wear black shoes with black trousers; even with blue jeans I usually want brown shoes). On the other hand I do think brown trousers look excellent with a white shirt.
chinortz- being that most of my wardrobe is either black or some sort of earth-tone (brown, burgundy, or olive, really) i've recently taken to mixing brown and black together.
in my experience, it's actually easier to pair brown pants with black shoes (so long as the shade is light enough to provide contrast). it's really just all about balance.
as the pants in question here are pretty straightforward, i'd shy away from wearing flashy shoes, but, as you mentioned you were going for a cleaner look anyway, i doubt you'd have a problem pulling it off.
