    SL - Sarah Lanzi

Started recently by Maurizio's assistant. Sarah something, forget her last name. Judging from the pictures the idea is wearing same garments in multiple ways.

Re: SL - another Carpe Diem offshoot

    JC Report:
For former contemporary art student Sarah Lanzi, who was mainly
responsible for Carpe Diem's Linea label from 1999 to 2003, the body is
not just a reference point, but an object for "essential and
transformist pieces," which Lanzi unveiled at her premiere womenswear
collection in Paris in 2004. For a/w '06-'07, this consisted of a
mainly black palette with hints of sand and white that included a
knee-length dress with a scarf that doubles as sleeves, an unevenly
draped ribbed tank that transforms into a cowlneck sweater, and an
A-line velvet dress that appears, from the front, rather monastic
because of its heavy drapery, yet features a seductively transgressive
low-cut back. For s/s '07, Lanzi mines this same conceptual vein and
continues with pieces that have the same versatility, but adds
chromatic drama to her austerely dark palette with intense red.

the second coat looks yohji to me.

does she not do any menswear? a lot of the linea stuff for men was a bit too experimental for my tastes, but there was a few pieces i really liked...

I like the last two pics a lot.

Ok, I am finally giving in and expressing my interest.....who exactly stocks this continuous line of labels? For women, I mean?

First rule is not to look at the prices. IF has a very nice women's lineup.

Wow, the prices aren't bad. Thanks, battles. It's funny that I skipped right over it while checking out Pollyanna website a few weeks ago - Sara Lanzi did not click with SL, doh...

Well, these look quite out of shape and plain ugly, to be frank. Although, I recently seen some SL stuff at Dover Street Market, it wasn't half bad.

To be fair, the few pictures here are hardly representative of her body of work.
let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.

True Avanster. It is not a good representation.
