    Recession Wallet

Due to the Wonderful state of the economy (and my dwindling student bank account) I decided to make a faux demeulemeester envelope wallet during my holiday free time.

    supplies required:
Moderately thin Leather with character (had plenty lying around... I might make another wallet or two in different leathers and try to fix a couple patterning flaws when I have some more free time....)
    Rubber Cement
    Brushes (for applying rubber cement)
    Closure

Access to an industrial sewing machine etc is a nice plus too! :D

All in all I think it came out ok for a first attempt at a wallet.. let me know what you think!

Looks great! How was the rubber cement used in the construction?

The rubber cement was used in pretty much every step of the construction. I used the cement first to aim the direction of the seam allowances for structural stability and to direct bulk. Then the rc was used to bond the outer leather and the inner leather together to both make it more sturdy and to make it act as one piece of leather rather than creating a pocket of air between the two layers.

Sounds good. Ive been thinking about making a wallet for a while as mine is falling apart so this is inspiring. After sourcing and treating the leather the construction shouldnt take too long, just need to make some time.
