the Starck x Oakley shoes were gnarly as well hehehe
Although the Hadid footwear isn't wearable, I will commend her in the fact that the silver and purple pairs are VERY much her style. Pretty to look at, but I hope to never see them on any womans foot.www.AlbertHuangMD.com - Digital Portfolio Of Projects & Designs

Those are some really ugly shoes.
But i think Gustavolins makes some beautiful pieces, and though he started out as an architect, he is a very talented designer. His womenswear is particularly exquisite, and his menswear is meticulously tailored. He references his architectual training with his signature "inverted 't'" on the back of his garments.

i think from all these photos it is evident that a successful transition from architecture into fashion requires more than direct form. the architects like starck, newson and zaha are so established that they can work from a distance, remotely controlling others to do their grunt work. what the shoes listed so far lack is a sensitivity to scale- they merely scaled whatever they designed to fit the 'foot object'
where things get interesting for me is when the structure of material properties are explored fully. the revered mr amadei is a good example of someone who converses with the material and tools that are being worked with, as shown in the sensitivity to the seams and joints. for me these are issues closer to the architect's heart than arbitrary forms for shoes.
oh and i didn't know he was motivated by his early ambitions to pursue architecture before i read the new issue of scoute.

oh and on the lack of scale:
video of zaha's shoe in creation.
marc newson is as much as an archtitect as starck and for some reason are known as architects? i dunno, i dont personally agree.
