I think the shoulders are a too obvious attempt at contrast between shoulders and mid-section. The exaggeration of the shoulders strikes me as contrived. In short, despite your excellent personal taste and vast knowledge, I think you're drinking the Kool-Aid.An artist is not paid for his labor, but for his vision. - James Whistler

It is contrived but it's sexy, so from a certain angle I like that outfit. Better than some of the more garish stuff coming out of Balmain.
I get the sense the average (celebrity) woman wearing that look wouldn't appear nearly as good as that particular pic though, so it's mostly a context thing.

as you see, they do a good job of bringing out the 'contrived' part. Sexy, not so much...it looks pretty fucking terrible in both cases here. Some clothes just aren't meant to be worn.

Celebrities and models aside, top half is good, Fuuma. I also like the mirrored lines in the shoulders/lapels, but with such large shoulders you really need a tiny waist and enough height for that sharp angled hourglass shape to work. Don't like the (studded?) pants but you probably already know that.let us raise a toast to ancient cotton, rotten voile, gloomy silk, slick carf, decayed goat, inflamed ram, sooty nelton, stifling silk, lazy sheep, bone-dry broad & skinny baffalo.
