    Post apocalyptic/Industrial visual references...

Alright, I have this film project in the making atm, so I am trying to collect good visual/atmosphere and costume inspirations for it, particulary to show to stylists/designers/directors involved in it so they catch on the mood.

What would you recomend as great inspirations?

I don't know, I heard good things about this Russian movie called Stalker, I think - by some dude named Tarkovsky or something like that...

          What else would you recomend?

I must say, I spent past 2 weeks trying to get a level of detail Tarkovsky has in each shot. So far, we are slowly getting there.

btw - watched Lopushanksy too ;) He tried to walk same road as Tarkovsky.

            Mad Max!!!

            Just kidding.

I recommend reading The Road. Too bad the film does not come out until later this year. What about The City of Lost Children? That was kind of sick.

If you're interested, Stalker is based on a short story called Roadside Picnic, which is quite enjoyable, though much less abstract than Stalker.

City of Lost Children is something creepy A VERY GOOD reminder. Mad Max is damn good thing ;) But my idea is not to make something that looks like Mad Max meets Boomer.

As for Пикник на Обочине, it is not so much post apocalyptic as sci-fi. Strugatsky wise, I'd call his Prisoners of Power more in tune with feeling, however Tarkovsky made a great job of going beyond the original writing, going after completely different theme than author intended

What about Terminator? It's kind of cheesy, but also kind of iconic, no?

Blade Runner? Not post-apocalyptic, but in the ballpark...
