I realllllly love his work. A lot.
I never would have considered this particular kind of baroque style to cross into my aesthetic (it doesn't/shouldn't I think) but it just appeals to me so much for some reason. The colour combinations and fabric choices are so beautiful, decorative just somehow undone, moody and a little bit enigmatic. I've been considering how well some of the bottoms would work in my wardrobe. Very tempted.

What does everyone think of his Spring '16 pieces where he moved away from the antique textiles he traditionally works with and instead began producing silk shirts/trousers/jackets with prints inspired by the patterns in the fabric that he usually uses?

Not so keen. The cache is the unique antique fabrics made into contemporary garments. The printed stuff looks like a reach for a wider audience with lower prices. Falls flat and muddies the brand.

I have spoken to Walid about this and the problem is that it's increasingly hard to find vintage fabrics like these. There is a finite amount of them.
