Hahaha, unfortunately I don't think I'm going to go the cross dressing route to try some of this clothing...lol. Not to mention none of this would fit me..."because the young are whores. dealers come to carol to get the rock"

Thanks Cas, this is all so awesome.
It's interesting that although Yohji is the master of black, he can also surprise us and use colors quite effectively.

the 'colors' shown in this collection are signatures of his, pieces pop up in the same tones regularly throughout his womenswear seasons. Like that tan colored sleeveless blazer/dress was done in a wrinkled leather shirt jacket just last winter.

Re: Yohji Yamamoto Womenswear F/W 08.09 Paris
This is the first time I've seen him use the colors on the runway though, which is I think what Scott was saying. His last few collections were pretty dark (except for those prints and the silver in SS08) and I quite like the colors used here.
The unfinished leather pieces look amazing too, still keeps the femininity but has that extra edge to it. All in all, I always enjoy his womenswear collections far more than the mens. Comparing his fall mens to this womens collection....it's just no contest for me; The womens wins hands down."because the young are whores. dealers come to carol to get the rock"

Great Caesar's ghost! This is what I'm talking about! Best collection to grace the walk all year! Love the draping coupled with the leather in the first pic/second column. As Cas said, the unfinished leather looks amazing. Particularly on the second, fourth and ninth pics of the first column. Love that hem of the leather panel. Love the elaboration of last season's knit and fabric interplay with the swap of knits for leathers. The rouching of the leather on the second pic/second column. The wool jacket with the short backless shawl/cloak...damn its all soooo good! Too much that's worth mentioning. This collection in its entirety is awesome! Details, details, details. Oh, the delicious details. Yohji delivers! And so does Casius. Thanks for posting all this golden goodness.

Agree completely--the last two or three seasons have certainly been on the blacker side, but this use of color is typical of YY, if you have a look at even the recent archives.
