Can we talk about, ummm... this is a little awkward... MAN SANDALS?

So I plan on spending a decent portion of this summer on a beach or by a pool. I need something to adorn my feet, and these Rick boots simply won't do.

There's a pair of Givenchy sandals from S/S 09 that I really like, and I imagine will go on sale quite soon. Can't seem to find a photo on the web though.

There's also these Marni sandals from Yoox that I quite like...

So what mandals are you wearing? If any...

Don't like mandals at all, I have never seen them work in any outfit ever, even though chris and snafu has made some good tries here on sz - I still believe that other footwear would improve on the outfits. Perhaps I'm alone on this though.

Not fond of those Marnis. Shiny sandals are a no go for me. I like the idea of the infamous Ann D ones that Snaf and Chris have, but the issue is that you need to have very nice feet in order to work them into your look.. Unless you're going for literal povera, I guess..

On a beach or pool, don't bother wearing anything, man, is there glass or are there nails in or around these bodies of water you visit? If no, then don't wear sandals.

I'm about to buy a couple of pairs from this site, and then dye them black.

I don't get the "mandals" and "ehhh, so sorry to bring this up, but.." thing.. Why is it such a hot topic?

I'd avoid mandals unless you're also carrying a sword or a spear.

I lived at a beach one summer and just got a pair of dark slip-on Vans. Just get one pair dedicated for pool/sand and you're good to go. No socks...Clean them out once a week,...you'll be golden.
And you won't look like you're heading off to battle at Carthage.

what is this I hear?! Since when are sandals only meant for women? Mandals?

this forum just keeps letting me down again and again.

I do love shofolk's sandals, the BW sandals are great as well.

If you're just going to the poolside/beach then just buy some $5-10 sandals from some cheap ass dollar store. The thought behind buying designer sandals for such a "who-gives-a-shit" social occasion is rather excessive.
