umm, i was thinking like general haircare products - the same way with how all ppl use shampoo, maybe there are some other products that are considered essential here. does the shampoo mark matter much tho?

another question if you don't mind - what can i do to unpuff my puffy hair. like to make it smaller

a lot of puffy hair and frizziness is the result of dryness. if you're not using a good conditioner, try using one for frizzy hair. putting a little bit of almond oil or camellia oil on your scalp and hair, will make it look shinier, healthier and less puffy.

oh, and don't wash/wet your hair every day. i wash/condition every other day and find it's plenty. on days off i put it up while i shower and try to keep it dry.

Won't work for all, but I stopped using shampoo, and my frizzy hair disappeared (the frizziness, not the hair).

Not using any shampoo is a thing. It lets your natural oils do the work if i'm not mistaken and that would most likely help with excessively dry hair.

Shampoo can strip the oil from your hair, which begets dryness, which begets static, which begets frizz.

More on the most stupidly named thing ever

The main benefit from this is not having to support the goddamned fucking cosmetic industry. Think somebody posted this here before.

                    edit: posted too late, haha

Yeah I second the no shampoo thing, totally unnecessary for the most part -- just condition 3 times a week your hair will wind up looking healthier.

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for good product, I have an undercut / hair's around 8 inches at this point. I've been using American Crew forming cream but it doesn't tend to hold very long, less than a full workday.

Ok, I never heard about this before lol. I usually wash my hair with shampoo every 4-6 days. I'll think about it but primary concern is smell. How do you deal with that? (I'm from Switzerland, cheese fondue is mandatory)

some people's hair is just naturally wavy/curly though.

of late I only shampoo my hair once a week, conditioner only 1-2 times more during the week. camellia oil (especially after shampooing) helps to tame it a bit too.

Arkady when I need to slick myself up for meetings I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shaping Cream, it works well enough but I'm not doing anything crazy with it.

What type of look are you trying to achieve? Slicked back shiny or matte with voluminous hold

An option for both would be stellar, actually. Mostly voluminous hold but occasionally I like to go full scumbag.
