Ok, I never heard about this before lol. I usually wash my hair with shampoo every 4-6 days. I'll think about it but primary concern is smell. How do you deal with that? (I'm from Switzerland, cheese fondue is mandatory)

Well, first off if your hair smells you might have other concerns but conditioner takes care of that entirely. Really all shampoo does is strip the oils off your hair which are a naturally occurring and keep the hair healthy, I usually only use shampoo if I've been doing something athletic.

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for good product, I have an undercut / hair's around 8 inches at this point. I've been using American Crew forming cream but it doesn't tend to hold very long, less than a full workday.

Yea heard allot about hanz, even talked to one of their big promoters. Only thing I see people complain about them is the hold not being strong enough and that it doesn't last long. Definitely worth a try, pricey though

If you've used ac (fiber) an alternative that I think works better is their di:fi line. Pink ones my fav, smells fruity though unfortunately. Stay away from Gatsby

For pomades best bet is probably layrite

Edit: Yea, probably the best pomades if that's what your looking for, use to get my cut at layrites shop actually. If your going to try out Hanz de fuko they offer a great sampling thing you can choose from

If you want super hold that isn't going to go anywhere for an undercut, when I was styling my hair that way I used Layrite Superhold, and since in the summer months I commute by motorcycle (helmet/on off a couple times a day) I would mix with Layrite Supershine which gave it a bit more malleability

I have thick hair and use a pomade by Imperial. It works very well and you can still run your fingers through your hair without getting them all sticky.

same thing i use Imperial fiber pomade and have VERY thick hair. It works better for me than american crew fiber which i had tried previously. Highly recommend

Imperial is good one I forgot about. Although I had a bad experience with it. There was black stuff in it after a month ... thought it was something from my fingers so I put it on my hair. Turns out it was mold

Edit: Suavecito is very similar to layrite, except it smells bad (at least I think so). Its also cheaper but I still prefer layrite over the other. Also Good tip ian+

I believe that those who complain actually don't know how to use these kind of products. People should realize that the hold and the shape of the hair comes from the heat applied and not the product. Also you should always use a very small amount, otherwise hair become heavy and lose their hold.

I have thick, curly hair. I use Layrite sometimes but I've been meaning to try Suavecito on a friend's recommendation. Apparently water-based hair products work better with this hair type.

Went to my derm for this as I have some recession around my temples, my hair's still thick everywhere else.

She told me that Minoxidil only helps for the back/center part of the head and not the temples. So if you've thinned there, perhaps give that a shot.

Additionally, once you stop taking it the effects fade, much like finestride.

I'm waiting for that magic future pill that fixes everything because nothing else is worthwhile. Hope my follicles hold out

Any recs for a good everyday styling product for medium hair length, kind of how young yohji has it In my profile pic. Been looking for one since my hairs kind of boring and just flops. Nothing too shiny/greasy

@ the 'shave head...' part. It's a viable move if all else fails. How else are you going to get away with more 'casual' Rick going into your 40s?
