    Home appliances

Seems like there's no thread for home appliances etc. (maybe because nobody cares...), so here goes.

I've been looking for a new toaster for a while now. Just bought a Krups. Awesome price/quality ratio, and a no-bullshit design. Munching on perfect toast as we speak. Will be using this one for a long time I think.

anyone here have a good, small and simple style espresso maker (none of that 'pod' bullshit etc...) they recommend? want something durable and CLASSIC, but needs to have milk steaming capability too.

considering something like this, but haven't looked around so much yet:

I like the TIVOLI radios like the songbook and the model three or the new model ten.

this is my coffee maker, is one of my great loves:

grinds it's own beans too, and makes everything from a perfect esspresso to a a great americana

kunk, cool - thanks for input. i was beginning to think nobody here made their own coffee...

i'm not a big drinker, but i'd really like to make my own cappuccinos in the morning, and an espresso every now and then...

after googling a bit, yours seems like a very convenient and easy to use one, compared to the ones i'm considering. on the other hand i really want something with a solid and simple construction (good materials, no bells and whistles). and even if i know it's not exactly comme il faut, i will most likely be buying pre-ground beans, so won't need a grinder in my machine. what are the pros and cons of yours, in your opinion?

this is also an option (apparently has a brass boiler, meaning it will last for ages) but it seems quite tricky to use, from reviews i've read.

^no cons, except you have to clean the guts once a month or so, but that's easy. it's very well made and goes on sale twice a year on jr music and amazon.

and do yourself a favor and buy whole beans and grind them yourself. i order from stumptown and gimme! coffee once a month. telling you, this machine makes the best coffee I have ever had.

haha ok. maybe i should broaden my somewhat conservative horizons then... i'll see if i can find any saecos in store here somewhere.

and yes, i realize not grinding the beans is a bit of a cop-out, but i figure if i get a manual machine i have enough on my hands in the beginning just learning to pull a good espresso. :)
