Originally the heels were more bulbous and prominent, making the displaced effect much more conspicuous. Unfortunately, I'd asked my cobbler to sand them down to eliminate some severe scratches they'd picked up, and he ended up trimming away more than I anticipated. It's too bad that I can't show them in their original condition, but I know for a fact that a certain other member has two pairs of shoes from this collection, so perhaps some day she can post them here to show the full effect.
