    Dying bright red rayon...advice?

I have a long maxi dress that is BRIGHT red. Basically, it blinds people in bright sunlight, so I'm hoping to find a way to dye it dark purple or blue. It is 95% rayon and 5% spandex. I've been told I should use a procion dye, but since dying is mixed by CMY color, I am not sure exactly what color of dye I should buy to get the color I want. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I was thinking a dark blue might work, but since I learned about the CMY wheel and dye, I'm just not sure. Any advice at all, on color, or process, or whatever, would be appreciated!

Rayon dyes easily, just use fiber reactive dyes

if you used blue it would most likely end up being purple.

You should do a sample first (on a similar fabric or maybe a part of the facing (if you can))

the 5% spandex will most probably not be a problem.
