Killer first contribution to this thread, Bson.

Hopefully it won't be the last!

                That is amusing, who knew!

So will we be seeing, perhaps, a .925 orthodontic bracelet from you soon?
                Or maybe root-post drop earrings?

Ahaha maybe not me, but I just coincidentally discovered this Japanese label Fangophilia designed by Taro Hanabusa who is both a qualified dentist and a jeweller.

Taro's works are designed to be worn directly over the body-part they imitate like faux-prosthetics. It's not a new concept... casting parts of the body is a technique made famous by German artist Gerd Rothmann... but his works did more frequently get translated into more traditional jewellery and objects.

It seems the technique predates Mr Rothmann, I suspect by centuries, though I wouldn't quite call it "jewelry":

Used in Victorian Asylums to prevent masturbation.
                      (no wonder they were crazy)

Forgive the lewdness, but I couldn't not post it after reading and seeing your wonderful post.
Not to mention – when on earth ELSE could I've gotten away with posting that one!

You opened the door and I snuck right in.

Random titbit. Ol Mr Kellogg, of corn flakes fame (and was abstinent through his entire marriage), was the dietician at his brothers Victorian health and in someways mental health farm.
He would give patients, who were committed for masturbation, bowls of cornflakes to take their mind off the ol five knuckle shuffle.
                          Wankers...
merz: your look has all the grace of george michael at the tail end of a coke binge.

Of course if they had any sense of humor at all, they'd have substituted those boring corn flakes for something not only more filling, but that incorporates a positive affirmation into their diets, as well.

This, for example, says a mouthful. While being a handful.
