I also think that tweed and denim do go well together. Especially when the colours are paired like Mail-Moth did it here. I find the palette really great and love how each part of the outfit compliment the other. The leg opening is indeed a bit wide for the rest though, but it doesn't hurt or anything.

Have you given the untuck a try? I always wear my LUC pants untucked over boots And they are really slim I'n the calf and hem, i like it much better, especially being kind of short i think it helps.

they weren't really tucked, they just fall that way, sloppily i suppose. looks kind of boring untucked, or may as well wear low tops in that case.
