Yohji Yamamoto pour Homme FW07 - Paris

Weird [:^)] He sometimes does these crazy prints, and you always wonder where they came from.... and where is the black?

I like this a lot. It's playful without being clownish; and there's something punkish about the way the clothes are modified and styled together, along with the shoes. The prints are certainly weird, but they work in a cartoony way.

the real question is... why did Atelier pick him up? especially with this collection

why not? yy makes great clothes and fits in to A's black aesthetic very well.

Atelier picked him up because of garments like these, the first coat is especially cool, although I doubt someone under 6' could pull it off.

Selling CCP, Harnden, Raf, Rick etc.

I was just wondering where the black is, and then I saw the 2nd set of pics. I like these a lot, especially these two, in particular the coats and pants...

... I'll be looking forward to checking these out at Atelier or Alan Bilzerian next fall.

Indeed. BTW, Yohji is like 5'5", and he wears this stuff, and it looks great on him. So much is in the soul...

I really like this collection. Especially the Lupin inspired knits. In Japan, the anime/manga artist who does this anime style is incredibly famous. He also did the videos for Daft Punk's discover album and is a cultural icon on par with Miyazaki. Its similar to when Iceberg did the Mickey Mouse / disney knits from decade past. It's somewhat playful, beautiful, and romantic at the same time. Also, all black F*cking boring, so I'm warming up well to this collection!

Oh man, I looooove those coats. Its a shame I have absolutely no easy access to YY, and can never try anything on.

Alot of the paneling with knit patterns on the coats reminds me alot of Watanabe a couple years back.
