Theres more pics i should post later , Theres also subtle shirts with ''DADA'' on them so Dadaism is a theme i figure ?
I think you just made chris wet.
I hope he can contain himself enough for the next batch of pics , dont want no premature wetness going on .
I dont't particularly like this collection. I think there's some nice ideas like the contrast lapels on the jackets, the shirts with the elbow joints, red wingtips, etc, but I dislike the styling and the extreme layering...
I'm sure the die hard Ann fans will like it better than I do :)

I dont like the styling of this collection, even though its so simular to past collections. I do however think some individual pieces stripped of their ''outfit'' are really nice though .
It's a relief that she's showing some new tailoring and some different fabrics for the first time in quite a while. I don't think there's much here I would actually buy though, apart from the shoes.
I'm half and half on this collection. I'm loving the black and white looks (as usual) but I'm not so sure on the red and square print fabric. The sneakers look very, very cool! I'm glad she was able to change them a little and make them a bit more unique from something like a chuck taylor.I also think it looks a bit heavy but I thought the same thing about last Spring's collection and when I handeled the pieces in the stores, I changed my mind right away. She always uses the finest of fabrics and the weight is usually just perfect for Spring.

The styling is so distracting....i really dislike it. Very hard to see the clothes, and I'm sure there are some good ones.
I absolutely love the touches of red underneath the jackets and on the feet.
...I mean the ephemeral, the fugitive, the contingent, the half of art whose other half is the eternal and the immutable.
there's too much layering going on in some of the pics, which makes it hard to judge the individual items. and yea, i'm not too sureon the red tone on some of the stuff... would rather see everything in a monochromatic black and white looks
number (n)ine did ann d better than ann d this season.
I rather like the red tone, but I think the usual styling does not quite suit this as well. It always looks incredible when the outfits are entirely black and white (then it looks really graphic and stark), but this collection seems to have more patterns and more lines and prints than usual, so it ends up just looking really busy. Too busy.Looks like there are some great pieces, though, when you really try and break the outfits down. I prefer this to N(N)'s version myself, regardless.
Here's my favs;I like the last shirt but I would be worried it would look a little costumey. I still love a lot of the sheer tops, waistcoats, and airy pants but I would agree with most here that it is somewhat hard to distinguish some of the pieces. I'm also not too fond of the short coats and waistcoats, it's just never been my thing though.I would honestly love to see Ann work with greys, I think it could be incorporated well into her collections.

Maybe a dumb question.. but who actually does the styling for the big Paris shows? Is the designer him/herself directly involved typically or does he have a hired stylist do it?
My initial reaction to this collection is that I like it. Upon reading many of your posts and reviewing the collection I have to agree that the layering is a bit excessive for some of the looks, and I agree that some of the red is odd (especially the all red/white look). Although they are similar to past seasons, I particularly like the jackets and some of the tops. the asymmetry and off-kilterness of her clothes have always been so well done.
I also really like the first look you picked, Casius. Alas, not too many brave souls will wear it (not me for sure). I agree, the styling is way too busy and distractive. I think overall it's a bit stagnant, despite the color changes. I think the huge stripes are a miss, and so are those weird patterns. And those DADA tshirts are ghastly. Merz, your Russian Constructivism pictures ain't helpin' [:P]
Of course, like others said, there will be awesome pieces under all this styling, but at this point I can't help but feel the same way dontbecruel is feeling about Yohji these days.

I completely missed Merz's constructivist post, I just used that exact image on a concept board I was making to accompany the sketches I have to turn in on monday for my fashion class.edit: on a side note, I can barely tell what those little pins she's got on a few of the jackets there are, but I have a feeling I'm going to want one
Hmm, I like the red contrast, and the whole set has a very building block formalist approach... Re: the Dada thing, I see very little Duchamp and a lot of Malevich, so that part is a bit lost on me.... The styling is very heavy handed this season, and I think Ann works better with a more streamlined layering approach. It certainly is a different direction, and I think it just needs some refinement, which will come with time...
I actually like this collection. It's not perfect but its not the "typical" ann d look which I like, and I think most of it will grow from my point of view...also it is not easy to make up last season collection because itwas sort of flawless,,. styling could be better, feels a bit too sloppy.
some of the models she've picked up has a real intense look though like this one
