I do know the real reason why smoking is banned in cafes etc.
And I see no problem with smoke-free place. A lot of people seem to like them and it's a good thing they have a choice to enjoy a smoke-free environment.
BUT:
Still, this doesn't change the fact that there's a lot of bar owners and employees, who are aware the threats but still would like to keep the smoking in their workplaces. Nothing wrong with that and there's deffinitelly a demand for that too.
And it wouldn't really harm anyobdy else, except the smokers if you'd have special kind of public bars/cafes/restaurants with permission to smoke indoors.

I haven't had a chance to try it, but my cousin started selling intelligentsia espresso out of his ice cream trucks in NYC. He's using Kees van der Westen machines (the man who designed the La Marzocco Mistral), and is taking this quite seriously. Best coffee In San Francisco

Local chain called Philz. Strong java made by the cup. A lot of coffee beans get sacrificed for each cup.

Philz can be great, but they're really hit or miss.

I always had a solid cup. Perhaps you tried a certain blend you did not like. I usually go with the Ether or Turkish Delight.

Not many places in KL specialize in coffee. I usually have mine at Cafe Barbera or Illy but after I got myself the Nespresso machine I'm just making great coffee at home. Not the best, but definitely good.

Tea

Any tea drinkers? Anyone recommend a good place in NYC for tea, perhaps with an online store as well?

Here's a great online shop for tea that I've been obsessing over. It's French (of course) but they ship abroad.

I used to be a huge coffee drinker with my favorite spots being Stumptown in Portland (the one on SW 3rd, and the one in the Ace Hotel). In Seattle I always go to the Vivace cart (since their shops are horribly ugly).

so i bought one of these nespresso machines and i drink like 10 of these a day. if you don't want to deal with the mess of making them traditionally, go and buy one..

also, buy the pods rated 10. the strongest flavour..
